About R3 Fusion
R3 Fusion is a company focused on applying a new, highly proprietary technology to address global challenges in environmental and water issues including desalination, industrial and municipal waste water treatment, water recovery and reuse, biofuel processes and fine chemical synthesis. The R3 approach is a disruptive, exceptionally cost-effective platform technology offering cleaner, greener and more energy efficient approaches to these challenges.
R3 Fusion has developed, demonstrated and is currently commercializing its Short Path Condensate Recovery (SPaCeR) technology in three distinct markets.

SPaCeR technology utilizes patent pending design and process approaches to dramatically lower costs for separating and recovering pure water from any number of impure or contaminated liquids – including briny and salty water, industrial process water, ethanol and biodiesel, and municipal wastewater. Many technologies have been developed over the centuries for obtaining pure water including naturally occurring filtration media such as sand, gravel, and charcoal, man-made chemical treatments for precipitating and removing dissolved and particulate contamination, membrane and filter technologies, ion-exchange resins, reverse osmosis, and thermal processes (evaporation and distillation). These approaches all suffer from a variety of deficiencies – chemical approaches are expensive and have to be tailored for the specific impurities and challenges in a specific application, physical approaches do not remove dissolved impurities and can suffer from clogging and pressure or flow limitations, and thermal systems are very energy inefficient. Nearly all-modern approaches are also complex and capital intensive.
The SPaCeR system represents a disruptive breakthrough in both performance and cost driven by the use of focused heating technology combined with thin film processing coupled with heat and mass transfer efficiencies perfected through more than fifteen years of process intensification research done by Dr. Roshan Jachuck, founder, President and CTO. The system is designed for reliability and is produced with a low cost bill of material. For desalination applications, our projected costs are 50% less than competing technologies. The innovative technology combines the high quality of distillation with extremely low energy usage and configured in a modular, small footprint. The modularity of the system enables the R3 technology to be effective in small desalination and waste water applications, yet scale to large plants with multiple instances of the equipment.
In addition to its SPaCeR technology, R3 Fusion also utilizes its patent granted Rotating Tube Reactor (RTR) technology under exclusive license from Clarkson University. Its proprietary process intensification tools have the potential to deliver energy efficient processing in a variety of sectors.
